I am a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant® through the Celebrant Institute, which is based in Montclair, New Jersey, USA. I have a Master's Degree in Play: Clowning, Ritual, and Transformation, and created a theatrical thesis project that combined my love of humor and comedy with my interests in ritual and ceremony. As a performing artist, I have always loved theater without the "fourth wall," that involved the audience. Singing in a band for several years and working as a therapeutic clown at a children's hospital helped develop my love of connecting with people and making the performance with them and for them. Becoming a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant® seemed like a natural way to evolve with those interests. I am also a poet and a dancer-martial-artist-mover-type, which helps infuse each ceremony I create with a sense of wonder, lyricism, and somatic awareness.
